Newly Admitted
Congratulations on your admission to SDSU's College of Engineering! We are excited to welcome you and to provide some resources to help in your transition. All admitted students and their guests are welcome to attend Explore SDSU. This event is the premier admitted student program for the incoming student class, including both first-years and transfers.
All of our seven undergraduate degrees offered are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. These programs are offered through four departments:
The new Engineering and Interdisciplinary Sciences (EIS) Complex houses state-of-the-art research laboratories in Bioengineering, Renewable Energy, Advanced Materials, and Wireless Communication. It also houses the William J. Leonard Entrepreneurship Center and several specialized facilities such as a Clean Room and an MRI facility.
The Engineering (E) building houses well-equipped, research facilities. These laboratories are the foundation for a hands-on, project-rich education for undergraduate and graduate students and the cornerstone for our many successful faculty research initiatives. You can view a full list of our College Laboratories here. You can also browse our research facilities by department:
Getting involved in organizations, clubs and other activities on campus enhances your leadership and networking skills, serves the campus community, and builds your resume by giving you valuable experience applying engineering principles in hands-on engineering project competitions. Here are just a few ways to get involved:

Since 1982, the SDSU MESA program has provided academic support, “out of classroom” experiences and industry and alumni engagement; which help students succeed academically and develop professionally to achieve career goals. MESA students engage in "high impact" experiences, such as undergraduate research, first year seminar, learning communities and leadership development. The goal of the program is to enhance student engagement and graduate students in the STEM fields. We are a postsecondary component of MESA California.

Established in 2011, the Troops to Engineers (T2E) Program is a unique program currently offered exclusively at SDSU to student veterans in undergraduate and graduate engineering programs. This program provides specialized career assistance for student veterans seeking to improve their professional development skills, obtain paid internships and secure engineering specific employment upon graduation. T2E is funded by Northrop Grumman and Booz Allen Hamilton to provide our program participants with specialized support opportunities to enhance their journey towards a successful career in their STEM field. T2E is dedicated to our veterans' success and strives to cultivate an environment for academic and professional excellence through our core program values: Community, Ingenuity, Excellence, and Diversity.

SDSU’s Women in Engineering Program was created in Fall 2019 to engage and provide support for undergraduates, graduates, and female faculty to create a welcoming community within the College of Engineering. SDSU’s WE provides resources and various opportunities to help them succeed at SDSU in addition to the opportunity to network and be mentored by local SDSU alumnae and industry representatives. SDSU’s WE Program also provides support and STEM outreach to K-12 students through the College of Engineering’s Femineer® Program. Participation in the Women in Engineering Initiative is not limited by sex, gender, race, color, national origin or any other characteristic protected by law.

Now That I'm Committed, What's Next?
Once you have accepted your admission to SDSU, you will need to review and complete the steps to enroll. If you haven't already, make sure to check your email for the link to sign up for New Student Orienation (NSO). This is an important time when you will meet with the Advising Team to review important information and get your upcoming semester schedule set. If you have any questions about NSO, please reach out to the Orientation, Transition, and Family Programs (OTFE) Office.

First-Year Students
Make sure to review the First-Year Steps to Enroll found on the OTFE website. It contains important information and links for your successful start at SDSU. We want to highlight a few here:
- Sign up for NSO for First-Year Students
- Send your official high school transcript
- Send AP & IB scores as soon as available
- Send community college transcripts, if applicable (cross-enrollment)
- Take the Math and Chemistry Placement Exams
If you completed the Student Success Pathways Preference Form and opted into being pre-registered, you will have classes prepared in your schedule to review during NSO. All students who opted in, opted out, or didn't complete the Preference Form will have the chance to review and edit their schedules during NSO. All first-year students will also be pre-registered into ENGR 101, a one-unit seminar that is a part of the First Year Experience.

Transfer Students
Make sure to review the Transfer Steps to Enroll found on the OTFE website. It contains important information and links for your successful start at SDSU. We want to highlight a few here:
- Sign up for NSO for Transfer Students
- Send your official previous school(s) transcript(s)
- Send AP & IB scores
- Gather syllabi for available courses; this is required if course review is needed
